The first thing you should know if you were raped or sexually assaulted is that it was not your fault. For local rape crisis hotlines click here or scroll down. You can call the National Sexual Assault Hotline, operated by RAINN, 24 hours a day at 1-800-656-HOPE (4673) or you can search for your local rape crisis center or hotlines. Sometimes local hotline operators are more relaxed and have more time to talk. Feel free to request to speak to a woman. Message boards are recommended as a good first step if you are not ready to talk. There is also emergency information on self injury, suicide and reaching out.
